THE POLITICAL BACKGROUND OF MEDINA IN THE TWELFTH/EIGHTEENTH CENTURY ACCORDING TO LITERARY SOURCES

The political events and social conflicts, together with other matters occurring in Medina from A.H.1111 to the end of the twelfth century (C.A.D. 1699-1785) comprise the material of al-AkhbĀr al-Gharība fī Dhikr mā waqaCa bi-Taybat al-Habība ⁽¹⁾, which is based on literary sources (mainly poetical works) of medina’s writers during the twelfth/eighteenth century.
